Batanes is the northernmost and the smallest province of the Philippines. The province was composed of ten islands called the Batanes Islands with the largest and most economically important are Itbayat, Batan and Sabtang. The people of Batanes are called Ivatan. It has 6 municipalities- basco, Itbayat, Ivana, Mahatao, Sabtang and Uyugan.
